InnoVEX 2019 is just a few days and its jam-packed with exciting things throughout the week with various experts, startups, and investors across the world.
Featuring a diverse set of events, the InnoVEX2019 Pi Stage will focus on creating connections and partnerships. With an emphasis on practical business matchings, the Pi Stage is the place to be to expand startups’ businesses and grow; globally and exponentially.
The InnoVEX Pi Stage is the dedicated place for startup demonstrations, pitch, and matchmaking sessions. During the three days of InnoVEX, in total five events will be held in the Pi Stage to promote startups to the global stage and help them find prospects around the globe.
InnoVEX Matchmaking Session powered by TTA x AAN
The first Matchmaking Session is Coordinated by Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) and Asia-Pacific Accelerator Network (AAN).
Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) is the flagship startups program funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and managed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and FutureWard. The main mission of the program is to foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and ultimately build a vibrant international tech startup ecosystem in Taiwan.
TTA hopes to attract global and domestic talents that focus on AI, software, semiconductor and actively supports the growth of technology industries by bringing in startups, accelerators, venture capital, and corporate partners under one roof; providing access to disruptive technologies and expertise from across the globe to create value for new innovative ventures.
This session will be Joined by international facilitators from AAN global partners, the event will help startups who want to connect with business opportunities in the Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, and France entrepreneurial eco-system. Joining startups will pitch to the present facilitators on May 30 from 09:45 to 12:05.
InnoVEX Matchmaking Session powered by TTA x TIEC
The second matchmaking session is one of the highly anticipated events and a great place to hunt for Capital through speed dating. The matching making session will be held in conjunction with Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) and Taiwan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC); this event will be hosted May 30 from 14:00 to 17:30. Parties, both investors and startups, interested in joining can begin by making their online profiles and conduct a direct matching for a face-to-face meeting on May 30.
TIEC (Taiwan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center), is one of the pillars of Taiwan Tech Arena program, a tech startup hub sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan focusing on cross border startup initiatives. Pitch and Match is the event platform to get all ecosystems connected with each other in collaboration with key startup trade fairs in Taiwan.
Since their first Pitch and Match 2017, TIEC has successfully matched 175 startups with 108 investors @InnoVEX 2017, @WCIT 2017, @Meet Taipei 2017, @InnoVEX 2018, and @ Meet Taipei 2018 creating hundreds of matchmaking opportunities.
The event will feature a speed dating session where startups will showcase their products, solutions, and innovations on stage to potential investors, partners, and more. The startups who will pitch were handpicked by accelerators from Silicon Valley and have undergone a rigorous boot camp to further improve their business.
The session will host various investors from Taya Venture Capital, Darwin, CIDC Consultants, Inc., SinoPac, and Samsung Next.
Global Demo Day
InnoVEX Global Demo Day on the Pi stage is a platform for demonstrations and gives organizations such as Overseas Trade Offices or Accelerators/Incubators; a 30 minutes’ timeslot for promoting their program to startups and also giving the participating startups a chance to promote their companies and products/ solutions.
In cooperation with the trade offices of France, Poland, Canada, and the Philippines; the Global Demo Day will serve as a platform for startup demonstrations and trade office introductions. The event aims to help promote international startups to the Taiwan market and give more exposure to the startups in addition to helping them find potential partners and potential users. The Global Demo Day will be held on May 31 from 10:00 to 12:00.
Participation is open to startup-focused organizations which have at least 4 startups to present on stage and every participating organization will have 30 minutes for their startups to present.
The Global Demo Day will feature startups from:
- France – a delegation from Business France
- Poland – a delegation from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency
- Canada- a delegation from the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei
- Philippines – a delegation from Manila Economic and Cultural Office
Tourism Innovation & Tech Awards
The first ever Tourism Innovation & Tech Awards will be held on May 31, 2019, from 12:30 to 16:45 in the InnoVEX Pi Stage. InnoVEX is excited to welcome 140 participating startups and congratulate the 20 finalists for making to the final stage of the Tourism Showdown Pitch Competition.
ICT innovation has many possible applications, including travel & tourism. To combine both ICT and tourism, the Tourism Bureau will hold the Tourism Innovation & Tech Awards on May 31, 2019. 140 startups from 12 countries have signed up, to showcase their exciting and innovative applications to promote Taiwan’s tourism on the stage. Featuring prizes of up to NTD 1 Million, the event will have an exciting competition between the 20 finalists in the final stage which will be held in Pi Stage on May 31 from 12:30 to 16:45.
The finalists will showcase their exciting and innovative applications to promote Taiwan’s tourism on the stage to compete for the 3 Prizes: Impeccable Yushan (NTD 1,000,000); Super Alishan (NTD 500,000); and Best Yangmingshan (NTD 300,000).
InnoVEX Pitch Contest
The InnoVEX Pitch Contest Semifinal is always held in the InnoVEX Pi Stage before the last day. In InnoVEX 2019, the Pitch Contest Semifinal will be held in two days: May 29 and the afternoon of May 30. The semifinalists will be published on the InnoVEX website soon.
2018 pitch contest had over 18 countries more than 100 Startup applied, 43% were from international Startup groups. It was also joined by USA, Japan, Malaysia, Belgium 17 international venture capitalists been our judges for the pitch event, which shows that InnoVEX has received global recognition among global startup teams.
2019 InnoVEX Pitch competition is open for registration since Oct 19th, 2018, the goal of this pitch is to bring outstanding Startups an opportunity to global exposure and have a chance to become our 2019 grand prize winner and take home 30k USD!
