Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of researchers across the globe have been working tirelessly to study the new coronavirus. They have generated an enormous amount of information, but until now there has been no central repository for this information.

The COVID-19 Data Portal addresses this need, creating a shared space where data about the new coronavirus can be stored, shared and analyzed using tools developed by EMBL-EBI and the wider scientific community.

The COVID-19 Data Portal was launched in April 2020 to bring together relevant datasets for sharing and analysis in an effort to accelerate coronavirus research. It enables researchers to upload, access and analyze COVID-19 related reference data and specialist datasets as part of the wider European COVID-19 Data Platform.
